The Kuwait National Petroleum Company awarded the construction of the Al-Zour refinery to a consortium comprising JGC Corporation and South Korea's GS Engineering & Construction.

The Al-Zour refinery is one of the most complete in the area, with the installation of six distillation units, atmospheric waste desulphurisation and hydrotreating plants for diesel, naphtha, and paraffin. After many changes in processes and phases, the order for ATEX Delvalle materialised in the form of alarm system signal distribution cabinets; one of the strategic issues to ensure and guarantee perfect operation of the facility.

SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE ATEX DELVALLE ENGINEERING TEAM

Whenever we are faced with this type of installation, the starting premise is to ensure that the contents of our electrical cabinets are perfectly insulated for as long as possible so that the installed system works with maximum guarantees. A possible explosion, a deflagration or simply an electric shock are situations that stress an installation of this type. Our solution was to use a Terbox Series watertight stainless-steel enclosure, which marked a turning point for the refinery. Atex Delvalle is proud to have been able to contribute our knowledge and expertise of Atex certified electrical cabinets for refineries.
